WEST COAST UNION. At last evening's meeting of the Management committee of the Wcoi Coast Rugoy Union, there were Present; Messrs J. Guy (chairman.), r. Eggieton. T Mclntosh, T. O’Duniwffi M Olsen, J. Steel, A. M. Jamieson, r. W. Baiine, T. P. Ryan ana O. McLean (secretary) The manager of the West Coast third grade team (Mr K. Saunders) reported on the team’s game with Westland last Saturday, and suggested that the game be re-played as a curtain-raiser to a Seddon Shield game Mr Jamieson said that the suggestion should come from Hokitika, as the Westland team womd have to travel. It was decided to hold the suggestion over. Magpip Club wrote that Star Club, which had protested against the playing of an alleged League player (M' Teen) had confused . him with his brother, who played League. It was decided to accept the ex > •> tion. a copy of which is to be loiwarded to the Star Club. Mr O Donnell said that it was up to Star Club to prove that Teen was a League Marlborough Union wrote ask.ng for nominations for the annual schoolboys’ tournament to be held at Marlborough on August 29 Mt Steel moved that the Union be advised that there was a possibility oa team representing the West Coast. He stated that private sources were arranging for a team to represent the province. Mr Baillie, seconding the motion stated that he had been sorry to see the tournament not held in Greymouth. It was decided to hold the matter oVer until next W The Westland Sub-Union wrote suggesting that a seyen-a-side tournament be held at HoKit.ka orAugust 9, in view of the Seddon Shield game on August 2. It was resolved.to adopt the suggestion It was decided to ask the SunUnion if it was in favour of sending a junior representative team from Hokitika to play a representative Greymouth team at Greymouth, on August 2. It was decided to ask the selectors, comprising the coaches of each junior team, with Mr Baillie as convener, to select a team. < It was decided that the selectors be asked to choose a team 01. 19 men, to represent West Coast against Marlborough for the Seddon Shield on August 2. It was also resolved that men be selected to train at Cobden on Thursday evening.

WESTLAND SUB-UNION. At the meeting of Westland SubUnion on Monday evening, the following members were present: Mr S. Moore (chair). Rev. Dr. Harrison, Messrs G. Shaw. A Stevenson, C. LHarner and E. W. Heenan Apologies were received from. Messrs B JKellv M. Davidson and W. Kearns. West Coast Union notified.that Unit-

ed had been declared winners of the senior competition, and a new competition would be commenced on Saturday. Mr L. Graham was appointed to referee the senior at Kokatahi. The following third grade’ fixture in a one-round copioetition was made for Saturday:--Kokatahi v. School at Hokitika, at 1.30 (refere, Mr D. Stuart); Kiwis and Exce.'siors were granted byes. Kiwi third grade team was granted permission to travel to Westport on Saturday. It was agreed to ask tne West Coast Union to set down Saturday, August 9, for the sevema-side tournament at Hokitika in lieu of August 16, this charge being necessarv in view of Sedden Shield games.
