Smith, Main Road, who n underwent a serious operation in the Grey Hospital last week, is making a good recovery. Miss Joan Kirk, school teacher, Brodie Street, has been transferred from Cobden School to the School at Rotorua. Mr James M’cNicol, Stafford Street, is an inmate of the Grey Hospital, u undergoing treatment. Mr and Mrs Thos. Collins of Woolston, who were residents of Black--1 ball up to nineteen years ago, have s been paying the town a visit, re- - newing old friendships. Last Saturday afternoon, a ~uiet wedding was celebrated at Ahaura, the contracting parties being Miss Edith Ouibell, third daughter of Mr and M’rs Chris. Ouibell, Brodie St., Blackball, and Mr George Leitch, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Alf. Smith, Main Road, Blackball. Mrs Tessie Smith, Blackball, acted as matron of honour, while Mr Jim Clark of Blackball was groomsman. After the weddin- a reception was held in the home of bridegroom’s parents, Main Road, toast of the newly-married pair was proposed by the groomsman in a Jieat speech, and was - drunk with musical honours Mr Smith suitably replied.
