Achihes, is visiting his mother, Mrs E. Rostern. Union Hotel, Wailsend. Mrs Bernard, .of Taylorville, accompanied by her son, Mr F Bernard. has Left for Wellington,’ where her eldest son was seriously injured on Thursday. A farewell social is to be tendered Rev. E H. Newman in the Pavilion on Wednesday evening, also a welcome to Rev. C. A. Scarfe to the Grey Valley parish. Winners at the weekly euchre tournament held in Stillwater Hall were. Mrs Cox and Mr L. Peterson. A dance was held in Wailsend Hall on Saturday evening, the proceeds being in aid of soldiers’ Chi stmass parcels. There was a very poor attendance. The music was supplied by Miss Watson Mr R. Moth was MC.
