DEAD HEATS AT WAIMATE. WAIMATE, July 19. Successive dead-heats in two races added zest to the Waimate Hunt Club’s annual steeplechase meeting. The weather was line, but the tracK was characterised by one experienced jockey as the most treacherous he had encountered. Many horses were unable to handle the going after the thaw set in.
