A well-grown sea-lion, has mads a temporary home on the south breakwater at‘Greymouth, during the past few days. On Thursday, the animal was basking on the rocks about half way between the signal station and the" end of the breakwater. The sealion had disappeared yesterday meriting.

The Farmers’ Union Conference decided to press for the adoption of some suitable scheme for the better education of retardate children, particularly in the rural areas, and Messrs P W. Begg and R.
