THEFTS AT P.W.D. CAMP. DUNEDIN. February 10. George Edward Whitmore, married, public servant at Milford Sound Public Works camp was sentenced to one year and nine months’ reformative detention, in the Supreme Court, for theft of £593, as servant, and£444, the property of a number ot workmen. NEGLIGENCE ALLEGED. WELLINGTON, February 10. Twenty-one witnesses will be called for the Crown, in the trial, which opened at the Supreme Court, today, of Leonard Stewart pram manufacturer. 48, of Petone, charged with negligent driving, causing death, and failure to stop after an accident. The charges followed an accident in Cambridge Terrace, Wellington, on the evening of November 8. when Albert Edward Boyes, 67, was knocked down and killed.
