Greymouth Man’s Success CHAMPIONSHIPS TO BE HELD AT LAKE BRUNNER. CHRISTCHURCH, February ’f. The delegates’ championship shield was presented to Mr P. McDonald (West Coast), who won both the races held for delegates yesterday. Lake Brunner, on the West Coast, has been chosen as the place of the next Idle-along championship contest, to be held in February, 1942. This was decided upon by a meeting of the conference of delegates. The presentation of the New Zealand Idle-along championship trophy to the winning crew, Wellington, was made in the Harbour Light Theatre, Lyttelton, last evening. The Mayor of Lyttelton (Mr F. E. Sutton) presented the trophy to the Wellington skipper, C. Stutter, and congratulated the Wellington crew on a fine performance. Mr Stutter returned thanks on behalf of th? crew, and Mr A. G. Harvey, the Wellington delegate, who spoke on behalf of the Wellington Yachting Association, gave an interesting talk on the origin of the Idle-along class. The Canterbury Idle-along championship, which was to have been held at Kairaki on Sunday, has been postponed until February 23. Arrangements are being macle for six or seven boats from Lyttelton to take part.
