CUBAN PRESIDENT
Assassination Threat HAVANA, February 4. An anonymous ’phone call to President Batista, threatening to “fire on the palace,” preceded the arrests of the army and navy chiefs. The threat is reported to have been part of a plot by military leaders to assassinate Batista at midnight, which they abandoned, due to lack of support for the revolt.
