GREY HOME GUARD
Last Night’s Parade Approximately 100 men attended the weekly parade of the Greymouth Home Guard, held in th e Drill Han last evening, Colonel Butcher being in command. Instructions in the use of the rifle and aiming practice was given by Corporal Smith, of the National Military Reserve. Appealing for better attendances at parades, Colonel Butcher said that.. to be efficiently trained, the platoons must be at full strength, whereas otherwise the period of null and monotonous training would be unduly prolonged. From now on the Guard will be given more interesting training in modern military tactics. the time for the daylight parades has been altered from 9 a.m. to 9.30 a.m., and th c next parade will be held on Victoria Park, Sunday, 19th. inst., at 9.30 a.m.
