DICTATOR TALK
N.S.W. Governor’s Secretary FINDING OF INQUIRY (Received December 18, 12.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, December 17. The Public Service Board ha s concluded its inquiry into the statements which allegedly were made by President Robb, of the New South Wales branch of the Returned Soldiers’ League at Canberra, as reported on November 26, when h e was stated to have favoured a dictatorship. The Board heard the evidence of the newspaper reporters who recorded his speech, and also the evidence of others who attended the congress. Th e Board found that Robb “acted indiscreetly in using the words he did use, and that his indiscretion amounted to improper conduct.” The Board proposes to take no further action against him. but it will consider, immediately, the question of th e compatibility of the Official Secretary to the State Governor being associated in an executive capacity with an outside organisation.
