GREY GUN CLUB

A very successful shoot was held oy the Grey Gun Club at Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon. The conditions were perfect, and there was quite a good attendance oi snooters from ' various clubs. The trophies were donated by the following: Hon. J. Ryall, Rev. Father Kelly. Messrs L. Coffey, A. Grogan, M. Gr-anich, D. Dowell, J. Ainger, T. Heineger, J. Griffin, Ashby Bergh and Co., D.’ McCarthy, R. J. Smith, G. Hill, J. Hassall and F. Chunn. Keen shooting was witnessed in each event. Results were as follows:—

First shoot (5 birds, eye-opeheri: Eleven competed. J. Elsmbre ahd T. Duri e both secured the possible, and in a shoot-off T. Durie won at the third bird. Father Kelly was th’rd. Second shoot (10 birds, trophy): There were 13 competitors. Fatner Kelly, J. Howat, T. Heineger ahd J-.. Elsmore with 9 birds each, shot off for th e prizes, and the shoot-off resulted in a win for Father Heineger being second and L. Elsmore third.

Third shoot (Ashby Bergh Challenge Cup, 15 birds): Father Kelly (22 yards) 1; T. Duri P (18 yards) 2; J. Howat (15 yards) 3. Fourth shoot (5 bird Kia-Ora): Sam Godfrey was first. In a. shootoff for second, J. Elsmor 0 won from Father Kelly. Fifth shoot. Quail Drive (Gilbert Challenge Cup): Ten competed, and four shooters tied for first with 4 bird s each. The shoot-off resulrca in a win for L. Elsmore, with J. Elsmore runner-up. A five-bird sweepstake' resulted m a win for Sam Godfrey, with J. Elsmore second and R. J- Smith third. Mr J. Arthur again capably handled the trap, and Mr R. G. Smith was referee.
