N.Z. EXPORTS This Year’s Figures [Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, December 5. The overseas trade figures, excluding specie, for New Zealand for October, 1940, were: Exports, £4,818,000: imports £4,011,000; excess of exports, £807,000’. The figures for 1939, with those for 1938 in parentheses, were: Exports, £3,907,000 (£2,165,000); imports, £3,330,0.00 (£4,270,000); excess of exports, £577,000 (£2,105,000 excess cf imports). The figures for the ten months ened October, 1940, were: Exports, £62,256,000; imports, £42,319,000; excess of exports, £19,937,000. The figures for the same period, 1939, with those for 1938 in parentheses were: Exports, £51,383,000 (£50,262,000); imports, £43,454,000 (£45,874,000); and excess of exports, £7,929,000 (£4,388,000).
