DISPUTE REVIVED

At MacDonald Mine MEN CEASE WORKING AUCKLAND, September 11. The dispute which opened at MacDonald coal mine on Tuesday of last week, when 200 miners decided not to work until one man’s claim for wet time payment had been determined, was revived this morning when, after working for an hour, the men returned to their homes. No work will be done at the mine to-morrow. Last week’ the men were idle on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. They worked on Friday, and again on Monday and Tuesday of this week. It is understood that the men held a meeting to receive a report from the Disputes Committee this morning, and they subsequently * left the mine, after working only an hour. The Northern Miners’ Union Executive held a meeting to-night to discuss the situation, but it was announced that no finality had been reached. A further meeting with the men will take place at the MacDonald mine to-morrow afternoon.
