CONSTABLE STABBED
IN WAIHI CHASE. WAIHI, September 9. A stab in the right cheek with a sharp instrument which necessitated several stitches was sustained by Constable, William Harper of Waihi, who gave chas e to a man seen leaving in suspicious circumstances the Borough Council yards whence benzine had been stolen. The man turned suddenly and inflicted the blow which also forepart of the constable’s clothing and' so far no arrest has been made.
