FURTHER CASUALTIES [Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, September 9. The following Air Force casualty list was issued to-night:— Sergeant Laurie Andrew Woodney Rasmussen —Killed on operations. His father is Mr F. W. Rasmussen, of 60 Epsom Avenue, Epsom, Auckland. Percy Roy Paul, clerk at the Royal New Zealand Air Force Station Harewood, was admitted to Burwood Hospital yesterday, where newas; renorted to be seriously ill with pneumonia. His wife is Mrs M. Paul, 12 Morley Street, New Plymouth. WELLINGTON, September 8. The following air casualties were announced to-day:— Sergeant T. C. M. Browne, Royal New Zealand Air Force, missing on air operations. His father i,s Mr. G. M. Browne,-of Evans Street, Featherston. . Sergeant Lawrence Francis Ma'bev, Royal New Zealand Air Force, previously reported missing on air operations, now reported by the international Red Cross to be a prisoner Ox war. His father is Mr. h. Mabey, Kelvin Grove Palmerston North.

As from yesterday, oil companies throughout New Zeaiand will sell motor-spirit only on a cash-on-deliv-ery basis. Drivers of tank waggons are to be authorised to receive payments, and customers, whose purchases are placed f.o.b. or, on rail or road transport trucks, must remit cash with order to ensure prompt dispatch. Notifications of the above alteration in trading terms is being advised to the trade by circular letters, now in course of post.

A German subject, who' has been living in New Zealand for some years, was arrested by detectives at Arthur’s Pass on Thursday, and has been interned. It was stated officially that he had been under observation for some time. When questioned he admitted being a German subject. The arrest was made by the Greyriiouth police. The internee was taken by detectives to Christchurch, handed over there to the military, authorities, and taken to Wellington for internment on Somes Island. A meeting of the Executive Committee of the West Coast Federation of Women's Institutes was held in Harker’s Tearooms on Friday last, those present being, Mesdames Stewart (President), Parkhill, Ashley, Oliver, and Smith. An apology for absence was received from Mrs Armstrong. Donations from Blackball and Moana W.l.’s for the Rest Room were received. A number of remits for the half-yearly meeting at Reefton were dealt with, and the agenda fob the meeting drawn up. Mrs Stewart read the report of the Council meeting at Wellington, and it was resolved to notify all Institutes regarding items in the report.
