WEDDING
ECKFO RD—WASHER. The wedding .took place at the Presbyterian Church, Seatoun, Wellington, of Audrey Evelyn, second daughter of Mrs and the late Mr F. Washer of Cobden, to Herbert Sugden, second son of Mr and Mr s G. Eckford, oi Blenheim. The bride, who was given away by Mr Ken Dunn, of Wellington, was attired in a navy model frock, and hat to tone. Nelson, as Matron of Honour, was wearing navy frock with cyclamen trimmings. Both carried bouquets of autumn shades of flowers. Mr. P. Gleeson was best man. The couple were entertained at the residence of Mr and Mrs Dunn, later leaving for the South Island. CHRISTMAS—ROBERTSON. The wedding was solemnised at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Greymouth, on July 27, of Jean, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. Robertson, Tainui Street, and Cyrus, son of Mr and Mrs F. Christmas, of Christchurch. Rev. A. D. Horwell officiated and Mr T. Crankshaw was at the organ.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a gown of white slipper satin, made on fitting lines, being deeply rucked at the back to fall into a graceful train. Her embossed veil was caught at the head with a topknot of white roses. She carried an armlet of Christmas roses, cyclamen and maidenhair fern. On leaving the church, the bride was presented *witn a silver horseshoe by her neice, little Judith Shaw.
Mrs G. Shaw, sister of the bride, attended as matron-of-hour, wearing a white taffeta frock, made 011 fitting lines, a top-knot of red Iceland poppies and carried an armlet of red Iceland poppies and ma'denhair fern. Mr Ashley Christmas was best man.
A buffet reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents, tne guests being received by the bride’s mother, who wore a model two-piece suit of black wool marocajn, with shoulder spray of freesia s and violetsMr and Mrs C. Christmas left later lor Christchurch, the bride travelling in a black two-piece suit, witn plaid coat and accessories to tone.
