BOWLING
COBDEN CLUB. An attendance of 16 members was presided over by the president, Mr| W. Kells, at the annual meeting of the Cobden Bowling Club. As a mark of respect to the late W. F. Washer, a foundation member of the club, those present stood in silence. The annual report was read and adopted. The Secretary, Mr J. Stokes, presented the balance sheet, which showed a profit of £212. The winners of the Club competitions were presented with trophies as follows: ' Singles, Mr J. Stokes; pairs, Messrs R. Girvan and J. Scorgie. Due to adverse weather conditions, it was impossible to complete the rinks competition, and it was therefore abandoned. The election of officers resulted: President, Mr T. A. Gilmour, i vice-president, Mr W. Jackson; secretary, Mr J'. Stokes; treasurer, Mr G. W. Gunn; committee, Messrs J. Derbyshire, W. McKechnie, A. Turley, H. E. Anderson, J. Scorgie, C. K. Millar, and the secretary and’treasurer. Selection committee, Messrs T. A. Gilmour, J. and J. Stokes. Grounds committee, Messrs W. Jackson, J’. Derbyshire and G. W. Gunn.
Votes of thanks were passed to the retiring officers, to the ladies, and all others who had assisted the Club 1
