THE WEATHER
[Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, July 31. The weather report i s as follows: — General situation: The situation is developing into one of the westerly type, with a belt of high pressure extending from New South Wales to beyond the North Island. A wean depression is passing to the soutn Forecast: Winds easterly in the Auckland Peninsula; otherwise from a westerly quarter, the force mainly light to moderate, but strong at times in some exposed positions from Cook Strait southwards. Seas (N.Zwaters): Rather rough to rough at times in Cook and Foveaux Straits, and on parts of the West Coast of the South Island; slight to moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea. Fresh westerly winds in the south, with rather rough seas; otherwise light to moderate variable winds, and moderate seas. Weather mainly fair, with moderate temperatures, ratnei changeable, however, in the western districts of the South Island, and in the far north and far south, with some scattered rain probable.
