About 100 pigs are consumed, by the people of New Zealand every "day, Mr C. H. M. Sorensen, supervisor for’ the Taranaki Pig Council, told the' New Plymouth Rotary Club. This made a big inroad into the total production m the country, but he felt that by present improvements in the care and accommodation the quantities needed by Great Britain could be supplied. Mr Sorensen emphasised the great importance of the quality of the product. “It is the quality of the product to-day that is going to determine our market for to-morrow,” he said. “We hear a great deal of talk about glut on the market, but there is no glut when your article is on top, and that is what New Zealand must always aim at.”
