After a visit of inspection to gold dredging interests in the South Island, Mr. George Watson, managing director of the Barrytown, Kanieri, and Arahura Gold Dredging Companies passed through Auckland on his return to Sydney. Mr. Watson said that capital amounting to £205,000 for Taramakau Gold Dredging, Ltd., a new flotation by a group, had been fully subscribed and the company had gone to allotment. The capital subscribed was divided equally between New Zealand and Australia. The directors, Mr. Watson said, proposed to complete the equipment of the area, which lies near Kumara, as speedily as possible. Plans were already well advanced, and work had commenced on building a large capacity dredge.
