FALL FROM WINDOW
HOSPITAL COOK’S DEATH.
[Per Press Association.] HASTINGS, January 16
An elderly woman, Miss May Lydia Rochefort, aged 53, cook at the Napier Public Hospital, was found seriously injured on the asphalt at the foot of a two-storey building at the institution at 5.30 a.m. to-day. Her death occurred within a few minutes.
It is assumed that Miss Rochefort fell from a window of the staff sitting room on the second floor, but there is nothing to indicate the cause of the accident. An inquest was opened this afternoon, and was adjourned sine die.
