U.S. WHALER TRANSFERRED WASHINGTON, January 3. The Maritime Commission has withdrawn its approval of the transfer of the whaler Frago, to Lars Christensen, of Norway. It has approved the ship’s transfer to the Pan.amanian registry. The Frago will be stripped and operated as a freighter. GOLD AND EXXCHANGE. LONDON, January 3. General discussion was resumed on the statement made in the Council by Sir John Simon on financing the war, and further discussion will take place in the Council on January 31. The Trades Union representatives emphasised their objection to the control of wages, otherwise than by voluntary negotiating now in existence.
