SECOND RAID

On German Naval Base BY BRITISH BOMBERS. LONDON, September 4. Royal Air Force bombers carried out a raid on the German naval base at the western entrance. to the Kiel Canal yesterday afternoon. One battleship, lying in the Schilling Roads, was severely damaged. Another, lying alongside the mole at Brunshittel, was damaged with several direct hits. The raid was carried out in unfavourable weather. 'Hie bombers went through a barrage of anti-aircraft fire and were engaged with German fighters. There were some casualties.
