TAKING OF THE “OLINDA”
CREW’S PLEDGE. (Received September 6 7.40 p.m.) LONDON, September 5. The Monte Video correspondent of ‘The Times” says: The British Legation here states that the captain and crew of the Olinda (the German steamer sunk by the cruiser Ajax; have given a pledge not to participate in the war. He adds that the Olinda’s captain expressed gratitude for the manner in which he and his crew had been treated aboard the British steamer, the San Gerardo. German Ships CROWD CENTRAL AMERICAN PORT. (Received September 6, 10.45 p.m.) LONDON, September 6. The Mexico City correspondent of “The Times” says! "The port is crowded with German ships from the Caribbean Sea and central American ports.
