' Store sheep.—There was a small en- ■ try, and a better market than last ■ week. Four six-tooth Corriedale ewes i sold up to 265, and other sound mouth ■ ewes from 14s 9d to 225. Ewe hogg* I ets fetched 13s 6d to 18s 6d, and other : hoggets 6s to Ils 6d. Ewe and lambs ! sold to 12s lOd, all counted. Two and four-tooth wethers sold from 10s lOd to 16s. Fat sheep.—There was an entry of 3,700, indifferent in quality. The market opened at an advance of 2s 6d;to 3s a head. There was an excellent sale throughout, with the butchers still short supplied. Best wethers sold at 56s 7d and best ewes at 50s. xq;; Fat cattle.—The entry was 364. There was fair quality, and. a good showing of steers and heifers. From, the outset there was a keen sale, prices advancing by 30s per head for the best classes, and others advanced up to 25s a head. It was the best sale for years. The best runners sold up to £9 Is. Store cattle. —There was nothing to quote, although graziers’ cows sold well, in accordance with beef rates. Fat pigs.—There was a medium entry. The market opened at a rate, in excess of last market. These rates were maintained throughout. Baconers were in medium supply, and had an excellent sale. Light pork fetched 44s 6d to 49s 6d; medium pork 50s 6d to 56s 6d; heavy pork 57s 6d to £3 5s 6d, the price per lb. being 75d to Bd. Light bacon fetched £3 7s 6d to £3 17s 6d; medium bacon £3 18s 6d to £4 8s 6d; heavy bacon £4 10s 6d to £4l9s 6d; and extra heavy baconers to £5 12s 6d, the price per lb. being 7d to Bd. Store pigs.—There was a medium entry, and another excellent sale" for all classes. There was an exceptionally keen sale for weaners and large stores. Weaners fetched Ils to 245; slips 21s to 255; and stores 27s to 39s’
