INANGAHUA NOTES

(Our Own Correspondent.) INANGAHUA, September 5. Last Saturday evening Inangahua Junction was rudely awakened from its peaceful slumbers by the blare of dance music; the swish of dancing feet; the loud bursts or hilarity, and deep chuckles of mirth; and the purr of engines, as car after- car and bus after bus emptied its quota into the surging crowd at the Labour Bali. The hall was tastefully decorated and the floor was in tiptop order. The music was supplied by Curtis’ Orchestra, extras being played by Miss Comerfood; and Mr QWake, while the dancing was under the capable supervision of Mr Shaw ana Mr Rooney. A very tasty supper was supplied by the ladies of the Social Committee, By special arrangement, Mr Totman, representing the Leicagraph Studios, Wellington, was present and most of the patrons took the opportunity ot having their photos taken. The prize winners of the novelty dances were as follows: —Lucky Spot: Mr Tomlinson and Miss Seymore. Monte Carlo: Mr Dazzler and Mrs Sidwell first, and Mr and Mrs Rinaldi second, Statue Barn Dance: Mr Hale and Miss Winstanley first, and Mr Ackin and Miss Markam second. A new suit was won : by Mr (Waff) Guinn, Westport. While I presenting the prizes, the president of the Branch (Mr A. Bedford), took the ! opportunity of thanking those present 1 for their attendance, making special mention of those who had travelled long distances t 0 help to make the would materially assist the “Labour Daily” campaign, for which, purpose it would be used, and, expressed the hope that everyone _had thoroughly function a success. He mentioned that the proceeds of the function enjoyed themselves.
