Race Postponed [Per Press Association]. THE CHATEAU, August 28. A snowfall this morning and rain decided the race committee not to hold the inter-club hut-to-hut race, the concluding event of the National Championships. Probably it will be held on Tuesday next.

SKIER’S ACCIDENT. THE CHATEAU, -August 28. Skiing in a thick mist 500 feet above Salt Hut, Mt. Ruapehu, shortly before noon to-day, George Sampson, a porter at the Chateau Tongajiro, shot unexpectedly over a fifteen foot bank, and fell forward on his ski stick, breaking his right front cheekbone, receiving moderate concussion, and possibly other head injuries. He was attended by Doctor K. Hiskens, of Te Awamutu, the official doctor for the National Ski Sports, and was taken by sledge and then by stretcher, down the road to a waiting bus, and then to Taumarunui Hospital. His condition is serious, but is Improving.
