Subject to the New Zealand Golf Association’s approval, the Australian team which will visit New Zealand, desires to play at Auckland, Christchurch, and at the New Zealand championships in Wellington. The council of the New Zealand Goll. Association has replied expressing pleasure at the acceptance of the invitation and approved the Australian Golf Union’s suggestion concerning the matches to be played. An Australian and New Zealand match will follow the New Zealand championships. The teams wij.l compete for the Pacific Trophy, which will take the place of the Kirk-Wind-eyer Cup. The trophy has been given by an anonymous New Zealand donor, and will be played for by teams representing the whole of Australia instead of b >’ teams from lhe various States. Competitions for the trophy will be played annually alternating between Australia and New Zealand. The Australians will arrive at. Auckland about October 20. SYDNEY, August 25. Miss Margaret Rankin, State champion, who has been elected as a member of the Tasman Cup golf team to visit New Zealand, broke her own course record at Newcastle, by seven strokes, returning 78. and winning three Northern District championships.
