W.F.A. MEETING. At the fortnightly meeting of the W.F.A. those present were: Messrs W. i Rafferty (chairman), R. J. Armstrong i E. Taylor, R. Bowman, J. Wood and) j E. Flood (secretary). The secretary) i submitted the balance sheet _of the < Peter Dawson Cup game, which was . approved. The Director of the Na- 1 tional Broadcasting Station 3ZR, wrote regretting that he could not do anything in the matter of a broadcast of the Nelson-Westland representative game, pointing out that the Rugby Union had the option for the season. Much discussion took place over the Director’s letter and it was decided that as it was too late in the season to make a move, to leave the matter over until next season. The secretary of the Runanga Club_ forwarded affiliation and registration fees. The chairman said that, while i he appreciated the Runanga Club sec- | retary’s action, he must point out that the registration fee was inadequate, without the names of the players registered with the club. Also, the club was in the position to introduce any new player into a game and declare him eligible. The members agreed with the views of the chairman, and the secretary was instructed to write to the, Runanga Club, re- ’ questing the names of the. players registered. He was of the opinion that, at a previous meeting, it had been decided to correspond with Canterbury on the matter. While he I had been in Canterbury 7 with the schools team he had been invited to , attend a meeting of the Canterbury • F.A. and he was much surprised to learn that the W.F.A. had not corresponded. The secretary said that, to his knowledge, at the meeting mentioned by Mr Taylor, nothing definite had been decided in the matter of the Dewar Cup. Minutes of previous meetings were read and it was found to be an oversight on the part of the secretary. Mr Taylor said that Canterbury were quite prepared, to accept senipr players if they were in their minority, for the Dewar Cup challenge.
