BRUNNER NOTES
[Our Own Correspondent] Mr W. Purdy presided at the meeting of the committee of the Brunner Public Library. Miss B. Bateman’s resignation was received with regret. It was decided to call applications locally. for the position. It was decided to have the billiard room open during the Xmas holidays, and to have the usual hours for issuing books observed. Miss R. McNeish was elected to the position of cleaner after an exhaustive vote. Accounts amounting to £8 3s 8d were passed for payment. A working bee from the Brunner combined sports clubs has commenced the work of making improvemeiits to the Taylorville Recreation Reserve. A number of seats were erected last week, and further improvements Will be made in the near future. Mrs Fordham, Mrs McDonald, and Mr Harper were the successful players at the Taylorville School whist drive on Saturday evening. Miss O. Richardson has returned to Hokitika after a month’s holiday. . Mr S. A. Fry, of Christchurch, is at present visiting the district. Mrs H. Browning, of Southland, is visiting her mother, Mrs E. Kerr, Saylorville.
