[Our Own Correspondent] > Both tennis fixtures were , not completed owing to the weather.- The Nelson Creek A team travelled to Moonlight and was leading by 4 sets to 1 when play ceased. Nelsoti Cteek won the first and third combines 6/2, the fourth combine and the top men s double 6/3, while Moonlight won the I second combines 6/2. ! The Bell Hill team travelled to Nelson Creek to play a local team, and was leading .by 7 sets to 3 when play ceased. Results, with Creek names first, were: Combined doubles —Topp and Miss J. Tuck v' Coleman and Miss Friend 4/6; Lamberton and Mrs Scott/ v. Mr and Mrs G. Campbell 5/6; Tuck and Mrs Ord v. Climo and Miss Pope 2/6; Scott and Miss Adamson v. Laugeson and Miss Pope 3/6. Men’s doubles: Topp and Lamberton v. Coleman and Campbell 2/6; Laugeson and Climo v. Tuck and Scott 5/6. Ladies’ doubles: Miss Tuck ahd Mrs Scott v. Miss Friend and Mrs Campbell 6/5; Mrs Ord and Miss Adamson v. Misses N. and J. Pope 0/6. Ladies’ singles: Miss Tuck v. Miss Friend 6/2; Miss Adamson v. Miss J. Pope 6/4. Nelson Creek, 3 sets, 39 games; Bell Hill, 7 sets, 52 games.

The Grey Valley cricket team travelled to Nelson Creek, losing on the first innings to the local team. Grey Valley batted first and made 91, Creek replying with 8 for 178, when they declared and put Valley in again with an hour to play. However all chances of an outright win were ruined by heavy rain. Details are as follows:— Grey Valley: Jaggers 45, Samson 4, Symons 2, Craig 4, Thorp 6, Bannan 12, Banks 2, Leach 0, Harrison not out 6, Smith 0, Blackie 1, Extras 9; total 91. Nelson Creek: Hedwig 3, Lamberton 8, Westwood 67, O’Brien 27, Tibbles 0, A. Krakosky 45, Chubbin 0, L. Krakosky 4, Ogilvie not out 10,' Taylor not out 4, extras 10; Total, 8 for 178. Grey Valley, second innings: Jaggers, not out 10, Craig not out 18, Harrison 0, total, 1 for 28. For Grey Valley Symons took 2 for 47, Jaggers 1 for 48, Samson 1 for 16, Craig 4 for 9, Thorp 0 for 8, Bannan 0 for 40. For ,Creek Westward took 2 for 35, O’Brien 5 for 23, Tibbles 3 for 20, Chubbin 0 for 4.
