Madame Gawronska, wife- of the former Polish Minister in Vienna, is reported to have gone to Rome to plead with Signor Mussolini to intervene on behalf of Dr. Schuschnigg, the former Austrian Chancellor. The Polish Government has increased its military budget by £20,000,000. HELSINKI, December 1. The Courts have ruled that the dissolution of the Fascist Party, was illegal. The Fascists are resuming party activities, and their newspapers are being published again. The dissolution was ordered by the Finnish Government on November 22. The Fascist Party has fourteen seats in the Parliament, and has eighteen newspapers. RUGBY, December 1. The Governor of the Windward Islands has telegraphed to the Colonial Office further particulars supplied by the Administrator of the island of St. Lucia of casualties in the recent landslide in the island. The latest figures show-that there are 107 known or assumed to be dead. The cases of a further twelve reported missing are being investigated. The Governor expresses the very deep appreciation of the colony for grants, totalling £16,000, voted by the British Government towards the relief of sufferers, and anti-malaria measures. More than £2OO sterling has been raised privately in Grenada, supplemented by gifts of stores and ingVIENNA, December 2. Captain F. S. Wilkins, the Air Ministry’s assistant inspector of accidents, who was travelling to Bagdad to investigate the Calpurnia accident, was slightly injured when a Luft-Hansa aeroplane crashed on a hillside in fog. One was killed , and four members of the crew and two German passengers were seriously injured. The aeroplane was burnt out. The Air Ministry has ordered Captain Wilkins to retifrn home.
