WOMAN’S DEATH
Found Shot HAWERA, December 3. With a .22 calibre rifle beside her and a bullet wound ip her chest, Mrs Alice Bertha Andrews wss found by her husband outside their farmhouse at Meremere yesterday afternoon. She vvas sent to hospital, where her death occurred last evening. It is understood that she made a statement that she intended to shoo, tbirds,’ and accidentally shot herself. No further details are available. The deceased’s husband left home at 11 a.m. to do some harvesting, and returning at 3 p.m. he found his wife lying seriously wounded near the house. The doctor who was called ordered her removal to hospital, where her death occurred shortly after her admission. It is understood the deceased’s health had been causing her family concern for some time.
