WELLINGTON, May 26.

The weather report is as follows:— General situation: Pressure has continued to fall in the New Zealand area, particularly to the south and south-east, but an anti-cyclone still covers the Tasman Sea. Forecast: Winds northwesterly at first on the East Coast from Marlborough northwards; otherwise moderate to strong south-westerlies to southerlies prevailing, and reaching gale force in some exposed positions

Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough to rough north of Farewell Spit, and in Foveaux Strait; otherwise slight to. moderate, but rising south of Castlepoint. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate south-west to southerly winds; seas slight to moderate.

Weather mainly cloudy to overcast, and with rain at times in most districts, but more especially in the South Island and Western districts of the North Island. Temperatures becoming cooler.
