I “It is undoubtedly the best-manu-i factored butter arriving on the British market,” he told the Conference of Australian Dairy Factory Managers and Secretaries, now neeting in Sydney. Mr Laffan gave hi impressions while he was Acting-Dairy Officer in London during the period from 1935 'to 1937. He said that the importers and buyers of Australian butter nad expressed themselves as very pleased with the sustained efforts of the Australian manufacturers to produce sound, uniform butter. He added that opinions were sometimes expressed that Australia should try to develop the Danish or the Continental flavour in its butter. Long years of i experience, however, had taught him ■' that the fun-flavoured lactic and butter "was never a keeper ” The fact was well-known that the Danish butter did not store well.
