THE WEATHER
WELLINGTON, April 29. The weather report is as follows: - General situation: A .rather deep secondary depression was centred near Nelson this afternoon, while pressure is high over Eastern Australia and the northern Tasman Sea. Forecast: Moderate to fresh southwesterly winds north of Kawhai and Tauranga, and moderate to strong south-westerly to south-easterly winds poutb of Westport and Kaikoura; elsewhere strong northerlies at first, but backing by to-morrow morning to southerly or south-easterly. Seas (New Zealand waters): Moderate in coastal waters on parts of the East Coast, but rising to-morrow; elsewhere mainly rather rough to rough. Eastern Tasman Sea: Fresh to strong south-westerly winds, and rough seas. Weather changeable in the north, with scattered showers; cloudy to overcast from Taranaki and Hawke’s Bay Southwards, with further rain, and some heavy falls in the central areas knd in parts of Canterbury. Conditions are improving to-morrow in the western districts. Temperatures are becoming cooler.
