ROSS NOTES

[Our Own Correspondent]. Mr Nolan, of the City Hotel, Ross, went under a serious operation, and residents are glad to hear that he is making a good recovery. A lorry was burnt on the road between Ross and Hokitika during the week. There was a good attendance at the swimming sports, gate takings amounting to £6 2s. Competition was keen, and the officials conducted the events well to time. Results were:—Men’s diving: H. Donaldson 1, R: Thompson 2. Seven competed. 50 yds breaststroke (men): Affleck 1, R.
