RUSSIANS ON ICE FLOE
LATEST MESSAGES. [Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] MOSCOW, February 9. The members of the Papanin expedition failedf to send their regular wireless messages to-day. A fierce storm raging in the region of the ice floe may have crippled the equipment. „ , n TROMSO, February 9. The wireless station has received a message from the Russian scientists, disclosing that the storm damaged their tent, which they repaired. They have a clear view of the Greenland coast. „ , n , MOSCOW, February 9.' M. Papanin wirelessed that everything is satisfactory. Their postior. is between Jan Mayen Island and the Greenland coast. The Taimir wirelessed that she is proceeding through broken ice, with the aid of searchlights. Her position is not far east of the scientists’ floe.
