N.Z. COUNCIL. WELLINGTON, February 8. The report of the monthly meeting of the golf council, states the Manawatu and Timaru Clubs have both definitely confirmed acceptance of the offer to hold the North and South Island amateur championships on their respective courses. In addition to the Auckland application, Manawatu and Wanganui are seeking the 1939 New Zealand championships. „ . X, XI. Guy has definitely notified that he is not available for the position .of Association professional this season. The secretary was instructed to write to J. A. Clements to ascertain if he would be available for South Island coaching, as last season. The New Zealand championships this year, will definitely commence at Dunedin on November 10.
