Darby • bowled well, his length having the • batsmen jn trouble all the time. His i average was 5 for 68. Adams, who

took 3 for 44, also bowled well. Doug- . las took a fine one handed catch to t dismiss Murch. Waiuta’s first inn- ., ings totalled 44, Curnow being the i only batsman to reach double figures. - Blom did well as wicket keeper. The fielding of G. Hunt came in for i favourable comment. Denia took 6 - for 22 and Marshall 4 for 13. Reid - for Waiuta made an appearance after - an absence of some years and he -ad - two not-out innings. In their sec- ; ond innings, Waiuta made 71. Darby was batting nicely when he was run - out by a smart return from Marshall, I his score being 35. Curnow made 11 , and hit out freely. The bowling honours were more evenly distribut■l ed, figures being Denia 3 for 8, Col,l lins 1 for 6, Marshall 3 for 11, Woods , 1 for 1. Waiuta put up a good fight with a team which included only a [ few of their usual players, but this ■ does not detract the merit of Reef- , ton’s win. Reefton; are a fine all round combination and will be hard ; to beat. ~ '
