CANADIAN SWIMMERS. (Received December 13, 7 p.m.) MONTREAL, December 13. The Canadian swimming team for the Empire Games is as follows:— Men: Bob Pirie, 220 and 440 yards; Bob Hooper, 200 and 440 yards; Gordon Devlin, 100 and 220 yards; George Burleigh, 100 and 200 yards. All of the above are free-style swimmers, while Jim Prentice is chosen for the 220 yards breast-stroke. Women: Dorothy Lyons, 100 and 220 yards; Phyllis Dewar, 100, 220, and 440 yards; Dorothy Hobson, 100, 200 and 440 yards (all free-style); Noel Exenbury, 100 yards free-style and 100 yards back-stroke; Florence Humble, free-style sprints, and 100 yards back-stroke. The supplementary list is as follows: George Athans, diving; Gordon Kerr, 220 yards backstroke; Lynda Adams, diving; Marie Sharkey, diving; Joan Langdon, 220 yards breaststroke; Barbara Richards, diving; Mary Baggaley, 100 and 220 yards free-style.
