REEFTON, November 29.

Mr and Mrs T. H. Lee,, junr, who spent their honeymoon in the Auckland district, returned by Saturday evening’s Christchurch train. The Committee of/ the Inangahua Miniature Rifle Club' have completed the erection of the rifle range in the Gymnasium Hall/ and all the rifles and equipment 'have arrived. All members and intending members are requested to note that on Thursday evening a general meeting is to be held at the range at 7 p.m. sharp, when some urgent business is to be. dealt with. Immediately after the meeting, the opening shoot of the club will be held, and a full attendance is requested. Persons wishing to become members are reminded that subscriptions are to be paid on or before Thursday evening, as all shooters must be financial members of the club.

In a friendly cricket- match at the Racecourse on Saturday, the Stevenson’s Flat team., played a combined Reefton team, and the match resulted as follows: Reef ton, first innings, 120 (Blom retired 60, Marshall retired 33); second innings, 2 wickets for 35 (Blom retired 28). Stevenson’s Flat, first inning, 36 (McLaren 11); second innings 118 (Bissett 33, Brown 12, Menzies 11). The match resulted in a draw, and a very enjoyable day was spent by all. ' , Playing in the Inangahua cricket competitions yesterday, Reefton travelled to Ahaura and were defeated by the local team by 118 runs on the first innings. Batting first. Ahaura made 163 (Vincent 39, A. Bowes 36, Pascoe 47, J. Becker 13). Bowling for Reefton, Denia took 3 wickets for 24, Marshall 2 for 42, Rogers 3 for, 39. Woods 1 for 19. Reefton’s first innings totalled 45 (Marshall 21, Yellowlees 12). Bowes took 1 for 21, Vincent 1 for 10, Pascoe 5 for 13. Three of Keefton’s batsmen were run out. In their second innings, Reefton lost 2 wickets for 84 (Blom 60, Denia not out 15). Vincent took 2 wickets for 51. + Waiuta cricketers journeyed to Keefton and were defeated by Dominion by an innings and one run Waiuta in their first innings made 89 (Darby 19, Mineall 19, Williams 19). McKenzie took 1 wicket for 22, McKenna 3 for 18, Quinn 2 for 21, Wood 3 for 11. Dominion replied with 126 (McKenzie 81, Fowler 13). Bowling for Waiuta, Darby took 1 wicket for 16 Gidley 3 for 26, Williams 1 for 18, Mineall 1 for 21, Adams 3 for 6. In their second innings, Waiuta were all out for 36 (Mineall 12). Quinn took 6 wickets for 13, McKenzie 3 for 22, McDougall 1 for 0.
