TAKEN UNAWARES
N.Z. PEOPLE ON “MONTEREY.” [Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.l SYDNEY, August 19. Two New Zealand men, forced to 'remain aboard the Monterey, since the vessel arrived at Sydney, nine days ago,\ will be returned to Auckland. Both state that they were seeing friends off at Auckland, and, not noticing the time, were still on the ship when it left the wharf. It is understood that arrangements were made by wireless for the payment of their fares, but nevertheless, the men were not permitted to land in Australia.
