ARABS’ AGITATION REVIVED. (Aust. & N.Z. Cable Assn.] GENEVA, August 17. The Mandates Commission completed the report on Palestine. It is understood it will raise no objection to the principle of partition, but suggests a transitional period, if necessary, with modification of the present Mandate order, to permit the application of partition in the best possible conditions. JERUSALEM, August 17. The authorities are endeavouring to stem the unrest growing recently by gaoling agitators. A dozen were arrested at the week-end, including the Secretary-General of the Arab National Committee. There had been attacks on Jews and police, and also Arabs suspected of selling land to Jews.
