Visit to West Coast I Per Press Association], WESTPORT, August 18. The Hon. G. R. Mason, Minister of Justice, arrived in Westport from Blenheim this evening. At the Hotel Buller he was met by the Mayor of Westport, Mr. J. Kilkenny; Mr. J. C. Brown (President of the Buller Progress League), Mr. W. H. Woodcock (President of the Westport Labour Party), Mr. W. O’Neill (Vice President of the Labour Party), Mr. A. Ridsdale (Secretary of the Labour Party), and also by members of the latter Society. The Minister discussed the question of the development of the pakihi lands, the Buller Gorge railway and other maters of distinct importance, and showed a keen interest in the progress of works. Hon. Mr. Mason leaves to-morrow for Greymouth.
