WEDDING
HOWAT—ELLIOTT, On Monday morning, the marriage was celebrated at the church of the Ressarrection, Cobden by Rev E. V. Marks, of Zona, daughter of the late Mr. B. Elliot and Mrs. A. Mosley to Hugh Stewart, only son of Mr. and Mrs. James Howat, Cobden. 'The bride who was escorted by Mr. Des Morris (Kokatahi), was attired in a navy broken pin striped costume with a small navy hat relieved with a white flower and eye veil and accessories to tone. Her bouquet was composed of winter roses, daphne and spring flowers with asparagus fern, She was attended by Mrs. H. S. Fredericks who also wore a navy striped costume with a large navy hat relieved with white flowers and her bouquet was of scarlet cyclamen, japonica and spring flowers. Mr. Jack Hydnman was best man. The reception was held at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Fredericks where some forty guests were entertained. The bridegroom’s mother received the guests wearing la smart navy knitted costume relieved with a pink and green motif, hat and shoes to tone. Mr. and Mrs. Howat later left for Nelson by car, the bride travelling infp’.smprt navy astrachan coat with blouse and skirt to tone and a smal l navy Robin Adair hat. Mr. and Mrs. Howat will reside in Cobden.
