STAY-IN STRIKE
SETTLEMENT EFFORT AT MELBOURNE, (Received August 17 at 11.35p.m.) MELBOURNE, August 17. A move to end the gas strike was made to-day by the Trades Hall Disputes Committee, which obtained a conference with the representatives of the Metropolitan Gas Coy. The proceeding ’ were adjourned until tomorrow.
