MONTEREY’S TIME. SYDNEY, August 10. For the Tasman crossing the Monterey’s time was 62 hours 10 minutes, not 62 hours 25 minutes as previous- ■ ly reported. The Monterey’s best time, hitherto, was 57 hours, 53 minutes, average 22.06 knots. Captain Johanson, interviewed said: . “Oh no, we were not racing. The 1 speed of my ship is 20* knots, unless ; there are good reasons why it should be more, and I do not know of any."
