fOur Own Correspondent! Mr W. Winchester of Hokitika, is on a visit to South Westland. Messrs Kir, by (2) and M. Keating paid a visit to Kumara last week. Mr J. C. McFarlane, of Hokit’kis on a business visit to the district. Mr S. Adamson paid a visit to Hokitika on Friday. Miss E. Kirby was the guest of Miss McNabb, of Kumara, last week. Quite a number of local people attended the Fire Brigade ball in Ross on Friday night last. Messrs Houston and party, who' have purchased the K.D.V. sawmill, at the mouth of the Wanganui River, have arrived on the site to commence operations. With a seven-a-side tournament being held in Weheka at the week-end, no game was played at either Harihari or Wataroa. ' The anniversary ball in aid of the Public Hall funds will be held here on Saturday next. The contractors for road construction at the foot of Mount Bonav expect to have the job completed this week. A carload of residents paid a visit to Kumara on Thursday to attend ’.he funeral of the late Mr James Murtha.
