GREAT PROGRESS
EMPLOYMENT PLACEMENT SCHEME.
OVER 500 PLACED IN N.Z. Excellent progress is> beiug made with the Employment Placement Scheme under the control of the Employment Bureaux. Since the inauguration of the scheme in New Zealand, ami up to June 6, 246 permanent and 245 temporary positions have been secured through the scheme, whilst 10 youths have also been placed. Tn Greymouth last week five men were permanently placed and five were placed on State works; whilst to Saturday, two men had been placed on part time work, 13 in permanent work and 22 have been assigned to public works.
At present there are 97 men, whose credentials have been verified, awaiting employment as follows; 1 Baker, 2 Blacksmiths, 1 Breakerdown (2nd). 1 Bricklayer. 2 Bushmen. 1 Bushman (2). 1 Butcher Asst., 1 Butcher, 1 Carpenter (bridge), 6 Carpenters, 1 Cook tpastrv). 2 Clerks. 15 Motor drivers, 1 Driver (loco). 1 Driver (stationary), 1 Driver (horse). 1 Electrician (improver), 1 Engineer. Radio, 3 Engineers (general). J Farmer. 5 Grocers’ Assts,' 1 Hairdresser, 14 Labourers (general). 1 Labourer (builders), 7 miners (coal), 3 minors (gold), 3 Painters. 1 Paperhanger, 1 Salesman, 5 Sawmill hands, 1 Seaman, 4 Shop Assistants. 1 Storeman (hardware). 1 Storeman, 1 Tramlayer, 1 Yardman. 4 Youths.
